英語專業(yè)成立于1985年，師資力量雄厚。本專業(yè)培養(yǎng)德、智、體全面發(fā)展，具有扎實的英語語言基礎(chǔ)和比較廣泛的科學(xué)文化知識，能在外事、經(jīng)貿(mào)、文化、新聞出版、教育、科研、旅游和工業(yè)（特別是建筑、材料、汽車、交通、海運）等部門從事翻譯 、研究、教學(xué)、管理工作的英語高級專門人才。
　　主要課程：基礎(chǔ)英語、高級英語、寫作、英國文學(xué)、美國文學(xué)、翻譯理論與實踐、外國報刊選讀、語言學(xué)導(dǎo)論、高級口譯等。
　　學(xué)生畢業(yè)后主要從事國家公務(wù)員、英語教師、企業(yè)外貿(mào)、翻譯等職業(yè)。就業(yè)地域集中在北京、上海、深圳、廣州、武漢等地。

英語專業(yè)（英法雙語實驗班）

(一) 本專業(yè)學(xué)生主要學(xué)習(xí)英法雙語語言、文學(xué)、政治、歷史、經(jīng)濟、外交、社會文化等方面的基本理論和基本知識、受到英語和法語聽、說、讀、寫、譯等方面的良好訓(xùn)練，掌握一定的科研方法，具有從事翻譯、研究、教學(xué)、管理工作的業(yè)務(wù)水平及較好的素質(zhì)和較強的能力。
 
　　(二) 畢業(yè)生應(yīng)獲得以下幾方面的知識和能力：
　　1．了解我國有關(guān)的方針、政策、法規(guī)；
　　2．掌握英語和法語語言學(xué)、文學(xué)及相關(guān)人文和科技方面的基礎(chǔ)知識；
　　3．具有扎實的英法雙語語言基礎(chǔ)和較熟練的聽、說、讀、寫、譯能力；
　　4．了解我國國情和英語國家及法語國家的社會和文化；
　　5．具有較好的漢語表達能力和基本調(diào)研能力；
　　6．掌握文獻檢索、資料查詢的基本方法，具有初步科學(xué)研究和實際工作能力。
 
　　(三) 專業(yè)核心課程：英語精讀、法語精讀、基礎(chǔ)寫作、歐美文學(xué)、翻譯理論與技巧、歐美國家概況、商務(wù)英語、商務(wù)法語。
　　專業(yè)特色課程：歐美文學(xué)、翻譯理論與技巧、商務(wù)英語、商務(wù)法語。
 
　　(四) 修業(yè)年限：四年
 
　　(五) 授予學(xué)位：文學(xué)學(xué)士學(xué)位
 
　　The students will be instructed with the basic theory and knowledge of English and French language, literature, politics, history, economics, diplomacy and social culture. With a comprehensive training of English and French language in listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation and a mastery of basic research methods, the students will possess strong skills and abilities in careers of translation, education, management and research.
　　The students are required to obtain the knowledge or ability as follows:
　　1. Getting acquainted with China’s policies and laws.
　　2. Mastery of essential knowledge in English and French linguistics, literature and other liberal arts, and the basic knowledge in science.
　　3. Proficiency in English and French listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation.
　　4. Understanding of Chinese culture and the culture of English-speaking countries and French-speaking countries.
　　5. Proficiency in Chinese language and the ability of research.
　　6. Mastery of the basic method of literature retrieval and data inquiry, elementary research skills and adaptability of future jobs.
　　Core Courses: Intensive English, Intensive French, Basic Writing, European and American Literature, Translation Theory and Techniques, Introduction to European and American Countries, Business English, Business French.
　　Characteristic Courses: European and American Literature, Translation Theory and Techniques, Business English, Business French.
